As back to school nears us here in Yolo County, CA, we are getting our children ready for a year of learning, friends, and fun! So much to do, with so little time. How do we find the time? First, we have to make the time, and that isn't always easy. Having enough patience to have enough time takes planning and work. Allow yourself enough time for the children by allowing enough time for yourself. Make it a swap, a fair trade, between the two of you. Keep in mind that there are lunches to be made, committees to join, school supplies to gather, and friends to make. All of these puzzle pieces encompass education, and what fun education really is!
Get to know your child's teacher! Volunteer in the classroom, or offer to donate school supplies to the teacher. What can be more fun is to actually have a schedule with your student's teacher on a regular basis. This will provide you so much enrichment while you benefit the classroom of your child and your student. Sometimes, we forget how many hats we, as adults, wear each day. Imagine the hats that your child has too!
Our biggest goal for our student is understanding the classroom expectation. With that comes the daily routine, the friendships that grow, and of course - the biggest part of our children attending school - the class work! You can even offer to assist with tutoring, or help at an after school program. Be involved. Get involved. The rewards are limitless to you and your child(ren)/student.
