Need a Gift That Always Fits? Holiday Gift Basket Ideas

The holidays are right around the corner. Buying gifts can be daunting. When looking for a thoughtful or creative gift, a gift basket can be just the thing – it’s always the right size and color because it can be customized specifically for each recipient.

Theme baskets include several gifts around a particular food, event or hobby. Some theme basket ideas include:

Soup Basket – Include 2 or 3 freezer-safe containers of homemade soup, croutons, oyster crackers, a soup bowl or mug

Wine Basket – Include a couple bottles of wine (maybe one red, one white), 2-4 wine glasses, blanket, crackers, cheese, grapes

Italian Dinner – Include a package of pasta, sauce (jar or homemade), garlic or Italian bread, oil (for dipping bread), Parmesan cheese, a bottle of wine, tiramisu or biscotti

Chocolate Basket – Include hot chocolate, truffles or bars of different chocolate, brownies, fudge, chocolate bark, chocolate dipped pretzels, chocolate covered fruit or nuts

Cold Weather Basket – Include a cozy blanket, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, cider, soup, cheese dip or artichoke dip (any dip served warm), bread or bread mix, slippers or fuzzy socks, a scarf

Movie Basket – Include a DVD, movie theater tickets or gift card, popcorn, soda, candy

Game Basket – Include a board game, deck of cards, pizza, pretzels, cheese and crackers, chips, popcorn

Kids Basket – Include coloring or activity books, stickers, glue, pompoms, pipe cleaners, crayons, construction paper, safety scissors, a book, Legos, juice boxes, snacks, travel games

Holiday Goodies - Cookies, chocolate-covered pretzels, nuts, chocolate-covered cherries, popcorn balls, candy canes, hot chocolate, chocolate or yogurt-covered raisins, brownies, cupcakes
